- Props to Bobby for the Rocky Votolato recommendation. Don’t bother with the link, he rarely updates his blog.
- I’m traveling up to Minnesota on Wednesday-Friday to visit the Krizouse and see a show.
- Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Micah Owensby AND Mr. and Mrs. Justin Burnham (Jana Potter)
- I saw Sandy this weekend, half of the Jonathandy combo.
- I also saw Mike and Janel Hernandez, oh how it was great to catch up with them! If only we lived in Kansas (probably the only time I’d make such a statement)
- Wow…this just happened a15 minutes ago; shooting at Ward Parkway Shopping Center. When is it going to stop? [refer to pictures of hope]
Monthly Archive for April, 2007
Ohh, scary…Friday the 13th beware. Well nothing real bad happened, so that’s good. But our basement did develop a little bit of a flood (more of a backup really). See picture:
If you look close enough you can see, yep you guess it, chunks of food. Apparently everything that was washed down from the kitchen sink would end up in the basement. I found some humor in the situation (as I do with most situations).
Great, now what do we do? We called our home owners insurance that came with our house. They were nice enough to put us in touch with a plumber. The main benefit to having home owners insurance is that you only have to pay a deductible. So instead of paying $140+ for hiring a plumber to come clean (or snake) the pipes we’d only have to pay our $55 deductible. That’s good. But still, being that Amy and I are trying to save up money for China we’re looking to cut corners where possible. I talked to my dad who told me how to do it myself. So, long story short, after only 3 feet of snake, our pipes were cleared and I saved myself $55! Hooray!
Onto the next bit of interesting Friday the 13th business. It snowed! In April!
Granted it was more of dusting, it still counts.
On a different note: I saved a Mac today. Ugh very, very frustrating. [for any mac-heads out there] What’s the deal with how valuable Fonts are to the Mac system? Anyway, below is what I stared at for a couple hours. It was a good learning experience I guess. And yes I use all 3 of the computers.
One more thing. Our small group is doing really well. I think in coming weeks we might have to split to keep the group healthy. (we’re running 12-14 average). We’re studying the book of Mark and this next week we’ll be in Chapter 3. Man I love Mark, short and to the point. But of course sometimes the details that he left out are important.
Last thing I promise, I love Facebook.
I didn’t have to work today so I went and had lunch with Amy and Julie at work. It was a grand’ol time eating at Kelso’s Pizza. For those of you you didn’t know I worked for Kelso’s for a couple months in highschool. It was good to see/smell/taste that things are the still the same. THEN we went out for dinner at BD’s Mongolian BBQ. Busy, expensive day. No eating out for us for awhile.
I don’t expect you to read the whole article, but just know that it exist.
